6 Fabulous creative activities to entertain the youngsters over Easter!

With all sorts of good things on the horizon for us in the UK, anticipation is certainly building. Everyone is looking forward to meeting up with friends and family once again, as well as being able to just relax. But we’re not there yet. And we have the prospect of Easter under restrictions still to go.

Of course, anyone with young kids has done their upmost to work out how to keep them entertained during this lockdown, and it hasn’t been easy over the winter months. But with spring upon us, we thought we’d put a few fun Easter ideas out there to help parents and carers keep everyone smiling over the holiday break.

Get Easter house-decorating

You think decorations are only for Christmas? Ha ha… nope. Think egg bunting, bunny shaped flags, and chick tinsel. There are loads of free templates available online. Print a few, grab the colouring pens, and dig out the glitter. All you need is paper, scissors, string, and a sense of cheeky Easter fun.

Make some stained glass window decorations

Cheer your neighbours up with some colourful stained glass creations. All you need is some card/paper, tissue paper, glue, and stick on gems if you have them. There are loads of design templates available online, so you can let your imagination run wild with eggs, bunnies, chicks, and flowers. Brighten everyone’s day when they walk past your house.

Make your own Easter tree

That’s right! They’re becoming really popular these days; and they’re easy as pie to make, particularly at this time of year. When you’re out on one of your walks, delve around in any little bits of woodland you pass and see if you can find an old branch on the ground – please, don’t go breaking anything off a tree. Then spray it with a colour of your choice, and decorate it up with ribbons, bunting, and anything Eastery that you can create.

Get mask making

Go on… you know you want to. There are loads of mask templates available free online. Find some bunny ones, print, cut, and get colouring. See who can create the funniest expression, and make sure you all wear them whilst your doing your Easter egg hunt!

Plant some Easter magic

We love this idea! Get the little ones to ‘plant’ some jelly beans; and make sure you know where they’ve put them. Then once they’ve gone to bed, go pop a lollypop in the place of each bean; perhaps even sprinkle a little flour in the shape of bunny footprints to hint that the Easter Bunny has worked his magic. You’ll have grinning faces for breakfast to look forward to.

Make an Easter basket box

If you’ve planned a little Easter egg hunt, how much fun is it to gather the booty in hand-made Easter boxes, eh? Have a hunt online for a template, there are loads, and get them creating and decorating their box in advance ready for the big event.

Obviously, you can see we’ve tried to come up with some different ideas here, but we absolutely hope you’re also going to get Easter bonnet making, egg blowing, and cup cake baking too. Plus, if you’ve had any other fantastic thoughts yourself, please share them with us. Let’s make this Easter one to remember!
